Seachem StressGuard combines with a protein on the surface of wounds to accelerate the healing of injured fish and reduce the likelihood of contracting primary and secondary infections.
Seachem StressGuard is compatible with all medications except copper based ones. Seachem StressGuard is amine free and therefore does not interfere with mucus regeneration when used with Seachem Purigen or Seachem HyperSorb. StressGuard does not interfere with filtration, as can be done with wrap-around products.
Product Benefits
Seachem StressGuard is highly effective in treatment due to its colloid content that interact with proteins. Such colloids actively "seek" any wounds, abrasions, or other places where there is protein on the surface and accumulate there, simultaneously supplying disinfectant and starting the healing process. Since these colloids bind protein, they also act as a liquid dressing for abrasions. Some companies recommend adding their preparations to the fish bag when purchasing. These foods are usually sour, and some are extremely sour. Adding such a product to a small, unopened container of fish is likely to cause more harm than good. Seachem StressGuard has a pH of 7.0. Thus, even in large doses, this product does not alter the pH level in the aquarium water. There are currently no products on the market that can match the performance of Seachem StressGuard.
Instructions for use
Use 1/2 - 1 cap (2.5 - 5 ml) for every 40 liters of water daily until stress signals subside or recovery is complete. The dose can be safely doubled.
