The Söchting carbonator works on the principle of the very successful principle of the well-known Söchting oxidizer. A small catalyst displaces persistent and stable citric acid from the plastic container. The citric acid flows into the carbonate solution. The result is a harmless citrate solution and pure carbon dioxide. The CO2 will collect under the diving bell and diffuse into the water where it can be easily absorbed by aquatic plants. Due to the very complex Söchting carbonator system, only pure CO2 is released into the water. The remaining citrate solution is harmless and can be poured down the sink. With the supplied refueling kit, the device will last more than two months.
