Highly effective filter aid for the decomposition of phosphates in your aquarium. Juwel Phorax effectively reduces algae growth and can greatly promote plant growth. Phosphates regularly enter the aquarium with fish food and practically do not decompose naturally. However, plants require only a small amount of phosphate for natural growth (fresh water: 0.05 mg / l, seawater 0.01 mg / l). Excess phosphate can, under certain circumstances, lead to overgrowth of algae. Phorax is composed of the mineral aluminum, which binds phosphate by forming water-insoluble aluminum phosphate and thereby removes it from the water. This makes JUWEL Phorax a highly effective agent that can bind up to 12 mg of phosphate per gram of Phorax.
