Algisin is a powerful and reliable way to control filamentous algae. Unlike some other products, Algisin does not contain harmful heavy metals.
Filamentous algae can thrive when exposed to sunlight and overgrow plants and the entire pond. Filamentous algae is often a problem in a clear pond because light can penetrate much deeper.
When filamentous algae in a pond grows so fast that manual removal has little or no effect, a pond treatment is advisable.
Treating filamentous algae with Algisin
The enzymatic action of Algisin causes the death of filamentous algae, already in the first days you can notice that some of the algae disappear, but it takes up to two weeks before the optimal result. If thread algae still appear after two weeks, you can repeat the treatment. After the treatment, the dead algae can easily be removed with a fine mesh net.
Important when using Algizin
- Check and, if necessary, increase KH to a minimum of 6°DH
- Do not treat until the water temperature has reached 10°C
Dosage of Algisin Colombo In Algisin 2,500 ml packages, 1 measuring spoon (15 ml) per 300 liters of pond water.
Sometimes two treatments are needed to achieve the desired result, the procedure can be repeated after 14 days.
Mix the required amount of Algizin with water in a watering can or bucket and distribute evenly over the pond.
Do not filter through charcoal or zeolite and turn off the ozonator and UV lamp during the treatment.
Avoid algae by using Colombo Biox
Regular use of Colombo BiOx prevents the re-growth of filamentous algae.
Thanks to the strong oxidative capacity of Colombo BiOx, the growth of filamentous algae is naturally inhibited and BiOx provides oxygenated water, which stimulates biological processes.
This results in more favorable conditions for fish and plant life.
