The food is designed for newborn fish, provides all the necessary nutritional balance at the earliest stages of development.

Rich in highly nutritious, freshly harvested ingredients, including selected premium fishmeal, which is an excellent source of protein rich in amino acids. Hikari® Tropical First Bites® offers a uniquely balanced nutrient profile for all important developmental stages of your fry and promotes proper nutrition. This semi-floating food allows fry at all levels of the aquarium to easily access their demanding diet while reducing water quality problems common with other fry food.

For optimal results, feed as often as possible daily, the amount your fish will eat within 2-3 minutes. Care should be taken not to feed large amounts less frequently, as this can cause nutrient deficiencies. For best results, give up to four times a day the amount of food that can be eaten within a minute.

For medium and bottom feeders:
Soak in a cup of aquarium water before feeding. This will cause the food to sink faster, giving these fry free access to food.

Viviparous (ovoviviparous):
Babies can consume Hikari First Bites immediately after birth.

oviparous:
The fry use their yolk sac to feed immediately after birth. Start feeding Hikari First Bites right before their yolk sac is completely used up.
